Some people express love with words. Others express it with actions. My mom expresses it with thread, fabric, patience, and time.
If you know her, you know she loves to sew. Not casually—intentionally. She disappears into her sewing room like it’s a sacred space. In there, she creates jackets, shirts, and clothes with the kind of care you can’t rush. Every stitch is deliberate. Every piece is made with purpose. It’s not about mass production. It’s about craftsmanship.
That room has always felt special to me. Quiet. Focused. Safe. It’s where creativity lives without pressure.
Where My Design Passion Really Came From
Looking back, I’m almost certain my passion for designing dog wearables came from my mom. At the time, I probably didn’t realize it. I just knew I liked creating things. I liked textures. I liked imagining how something would fit, function, and feel.
Years later, I’m designing dog jackets, sweaters, and wearables—and it suddenly makes sense.
I didn’t just wake up one day with that idea. It was modeled for me. I grew up watching someone create with her hands, patiently, joyfully, without asking for recognition. That kind of influence stays with you, even when you don’t see it clearly at first.
And sure—maybe the exact idea clicked during a moment of altered thinking. Who knows. Inspiration comes from strange places sometimes. But the foundation? That was sewn in long before.
Sophie: The Dog That Ties It All Together
My parents have a West Highland Terrier named Sophie. Technically, she’s my mom’s dog. Realistically? My dad claims her as his own—and Sophie seems perfectly happy with that arrangement.
She’s family. Simple as that.
Watching how much they love Sophie—how much care, attention, and affection goes into her daily life—reinforced something for me early on: pets aren’t accessories. They’re companions. They’re emotional anchors. They’re part of the home.
When you love a dog like that, you want them warm. Comfortable. Protected. You want things made well for them—not cheaply, not carelessly. That mindset absolutely shaped how I think about dog wearables today.
Loving My Mom, Appreciating the Quiet Influence
My mom doesn’t need to be loud to be impactful. Her influence shows up in subtle ways—in discipline, patience, and the pride of making something with care. She taught me, without ever sitting me down, that creating something meaningful takes time and intention.
I love her for that.
I love her for who she is.
I love her for the creativity she lives out so naturally.
And I love that, in some roundabout way, her sewing room helped shape the path I’m on now.
Full Circle Moments
It’s funny how life works. You chase ideas, build things, evolve—and then one day you realize you’ve been circling back to the same core influences all along. Family. Love. Craft. Care.
The things that mattered first still matter most.
And whether I realized it then or not, my mom stitched a part of this journey together long before I ever picked up a domain name or designed a product.
Some threads never break.
